The Choisie series is a Young Adult/New Adult story following a teenage girl as she struggles to find her footing under the scrutiny of local media and the cautious eye of her overprotective father.

Livvy Holland was adopted by a generous and wealthy couple as a child. Now sixteen, she is a burgeoning artist, encouraged by her mother and inspired by a man she was never able to meet. Feeling estranged from a loving father whose mind works much differently than her own, she questions whether or not she was paired with the right guardians. In her plight for independence, she reconnects with a fellow art student who grew up alongside Livvy.

Jon Scott has led anything but a privileged life. After his father passes away, he is left to care for his two half-brothers while his mother’s alcoholism threatens to tear his family apart. All he wants for himself and his brothers is a better life. His dreams for an Ivy League education are coming to fruition, thanks to a lifetime of hard work and ambition. This is not only important to Jon himself; he also knows that the man who will win Livvy’s heart has to be someone exceptional. Her father would accept nothing less–and Jon believes that Livvy deserves the best of everything, too.

That may be the only thing Jon and Livvy’s father agree upon.

Over the course of their courtship, these two teens will experience the bliss of true love, but their immaturity and differing lifestyles will also threaten to tear them apart. They both begin to question the other’s devotion and commitment; only time will tell if their first love is meant to last a lifetime.

This series, comprised in totality of four books, allows the reader to experience first love for a second time. The first three books–Contessa, Olivia, and Dear Jon–are available now, with the fourth book–Livvy–slated to be released December 9!

“I want you to make love to me.” My voice cracks when I say it.

“Why?” he challenges me. Why? What kind of a question is that?

“Because I love you.”

“You wear my ring because you love me. You devote every Saturday night to me because you love me. You answer my calls every day because you love me. Why do you want me?”

“I don’t… I don’t think I understand.”

“Here’s what I want. I want to trail my fingers down the length of your naked body and feel the excitement they leave in their wake.”

I look around quickly, grateful that he’s not speaking too loudly.

“I want to smell the perfume you wear as I nip at your earlobe and whisper things to you I’m too afraid to say when I’m not inebriated by your very presence.”

I can’t believe he’s saying these things to me right here, in the light of day, as if he’s telling me about his classes or what color shoes he decided to wear today.

“I want to hear you pronounce my name with such desperation, supplicating me for more – deeper, slower – like you can’t get enough of me even though you’re holding me so tightly you leave marks on my skin that take days to disappear and underscore the words forever inscribed on my shoulder blade–”

“I’m sorry–” He interrupts my interruption with a surprising kiss, his hand supporting my neck as his mouth moves hard and fast against mine. I gasp when he pulls away, and my eyes are enraptured by the fervency of his gaze.

“I’m not,” he whispers, then shakes his head. “I want the taste of you…” He pauses and nods just so, making sure I fully understand what he’s implying. “…on my lips.”

“Jon!” I nearly shriek, taken aback by his brazenness and indelicate suggestion. Oddly enough, though, I’ve never been more attracted to him than I am in this moment. He laughs at my response.

“And I want to make you blush, just like that.” He touches his thumb to the warm skin of my face. “To see the glow of tamarisk in your cheeks when you’re coming down. There’s not a prettier color in nature.”

I can say nothing, do nothing, except stare at him with my mouth agape.

“And do you want to know why I want these things?”

It takes me a moment to realize he’s asked me a question, that he’s waiting for my answer. “Because you want me to be happy?”

“No.” Now both of his thumbs rub my temples as he stares lustfully at me, through me. My pulse is raging, and I can hear it in my ears and feel it coursing beneath my skin. “Because I’m a selfish man, and every one of those things rouses me and makes me want to take you in ways I never have — ways your virtuous mind has probably never even imagined. You engage me and provoke me and you drive me to the brink of insanity, and just when I think I’m gone, you save me, Olivia. A brush of your hand. A kiss. A whisper.”

After graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Lori Otto worked in the billboard industry for ten years. Frustrated with trying to communicate entire messages in “seven seconds or less,” she decided to leave outdoor advertising and return to her love of creative writing.

Title: Forever Love series

Including: Forever Dark and Forever Light

Authors: Chelsea Landon and Megan Smith

Release Date: Oct 16, 2014

Hosted by: Southern Belle Promotions & Book Plug Promotions

From the lights of the field, to the curve in the road, one shattered breath leaves friendships forever altered.

The Forever Love Series will submerge you into two novels intertwined together where love and loss can break you down, tear you apart, and even last forever, if you’re willing to let it.

After a celebratory night for six friends on the cusp of adulthood ends tragically, they’re left learning how to carry on. Years later, through their own struggles and accomplishments, each is left suspended by fears that encase them with such an intense blinding light, and a horrific soul-stealing darkness. Can they find their way out of the intricate web of guilt and deceit? Can they grasp the light amongst the shadows of what they used to be… and manage to be who they should become?

Sometimes the only way to heal is to face the fear of forever.

Forever Dark by Chelsea Landon

In Forever Dark, a novel by Chelsea Landon, you’ll spiral through life’s twists and turns of Cash Bryant, humbled quarterback, living his dream on the brink of fame, and Madison Thomas, a girl who shares the burden of the accident and destined for failure. Two people torn apart by tragedy; fearing that letting go will sever their remaining connection.

Forever Light by Megan Smith

In Forever Light, a new novel by USA Today Bestselling Author Megan Smith, you’ll meet Landon Hayes, an all-star wide receiver who is spiraling out of control after that one fateful night, and Macy Thomas, a college sweetheart who is shy and afraid to come out of her shell since the accident. When the heart-breaking reality sets in, can they find their light or is the past too dark to find their way?

Excerpt from Forever Dark

She turns around and wraps her arms around my neck, her hips grinding against mine. I do the same and smile slightly when I feel her body curve around mine.

“What are you doing to me?” I whisper in her ear. She could stab me in the heart at this point and it wouldn’t hurt as much as it does to see her control me like this. I want to walk away but in reality, in my fucked up sense of reality, a world without her in it isn’t worth living.

Her eyes water and I hold her closer, I want to fucking kiss her in front of everyone. I want to fuck her against the wall in front of this room just to let them know she’s mine. My face is close enough that I smell her sweetness, the coconut of her shampoo but she smells like me too. She smells like my sweat. My scent is all over her and I like that.

“What?” she asks, her breath hitting my skin. It sends shivers through my chest.

You.” Pulling back, I watch her reaction feeling her chest heaving against mine. I can feel the beat in hers thumping wildly against mine. “What are you doing to me?”

She hesitates to answer.

I curve an eyebrow at her, she stops moving.

She gives nothing.

Excerpt from Forever Light

I roll onto my back and stare up to the sky. It’s a clear cold night with the stars shining brightly. “I didn’t treat you right, Macy, not the way I should have.” She’s quiet. “I took your love for granted. When you gave me your virginity our sophomore year I didn’t realize then what you were sharing with me.” I huff. “I should have loved you more but I didn’t take the time. I didn’t realize what was right in front of me.”

Macy crawls over and lies against my side and holds my hand.

“See,” I try to smile but it fails. “I should have done that. I feel like I’m not good enough for you.” My throat feels tight.

“Landon, you are. This is you and I love you with your flaws and all. If I didn’t I wouldn’t be here.” Macy squeezes my hand. “I’m been holding on hoping that one day you’d see me again. You’d come back to me.”

“My light. You’re my light in the darkness.”

Macy’s eyes glass over. “Landon, I’m all out of tears. I’m crumbling and for once I need you. I. Need. You.”

I roll over and kiss her with no hesitation. “I’m here, baby.”

I rest my forehead on hers. “I love you, Landon.”

All the fight leaves me, I am no longer angry. I am nothing without Macy in my life and it’s taken passing through the gates of hell to get to this point. “I love you too.”

I lie back and Macy lays her head on my chest. We’re quiet for some time.

“Are we okay?” I ask.

She sighs, “We’re always okay.”

“Well, that’s a problem.”

“I’m just thankful I have you. All the other shit can be worked out.”

That night Macy and I slept out in the hammock. We never did find out if we still have it but I know we do. That night wasn’t about that. It was about us finding our way back to each other. It was about finding my forever light.

A stay-at-home mom, Chelsea spends her days drinking entirely too much caffeine, baking sugar-sweet treats she never eats, playing on Pinterest, and jotting down notes for her novels. A dreamer at heart, she’s been creating happily-ever-afters. She’s a lover, a writer, a dreamer, would rather type than speak, wants to remember everything, loves lots of ice in her drinks, and is slightly introverted.

Money     ~
power     ~     fame

Growing up in the arms of one of the
wealthiest families in America, I lived a champagne lifestyle and never wanted
for anything.
That life came with stipulations…
1.    Marry
the man I don’t love.
2.    Make
my parents proud.

I left my Manolos and fancy apartment
behind and fled that life to find out who I really was.
Someone unexpected bulldozed my life.

Riley Jackson

He was the man everyone, including me, wanted, but his
future was one I wasn’t sure I wanted to thrust myself back into. And when he
chose a career over the family business, his family supported him instead of pushing
him away.
My past collided with my future.
I didn’t
see it coming. If I had, I would’ve ran far, far away.
Now I’m stuck in the same position I
started in two years ago, except this time, it’s not my decision to make.
Loyalty to your family? Loyalty to your
own happiness?
Which would you choose?

past week has been pure hell. After I left his parents’ house, something
shifted in our relationship, and it wasn’t for the better. I knew the moment
Todd called me his ex-fiancé in front of everyone, things between Riley and I
would never be the same. I could feel it deep within my soul. It was like all
the air had been sucked out of the room and I couldn’t breathe. Now, I’m
was seven days ago.
days that my calls and texts have gone unanswered.
days since I’ve seen him.
like to chalk it up to he’s just busy but I know differently. Sleep has evaded
me. My appetite is no longer existent. I stay holed up in my room, only leaving
for work. I’m living like a hermit. I’ve become a shell of the person I was a
week ago. Jen has exhausted all her efforts to make me feel better, but it’s no
use. In a million pieces, I left my heart in a driveway in Alabama and, for the
first time in my life, I don’t know how to cope.
deciding that I’m finished trying to get him to come to me, I make the decision
to go to him. In a pair of sweat pants and a ratted T-shirt, I pull myself out
of bed, not giving a damn how I look. He needs to see what his avoidance has
done to me. I go into the bathroom and what I see in the mirror doesn’t
surprise me at all. Bloodshot eyes, the tip of my nose and lips red and
swollen, and my hair a mess, at least I look how I feel, like shit. For the
first time in days, I brush my teeth and even the fresh feeling doesn’t improve
my mood. I pull my hair back in a messy bun and decide that’s as good as it’s
going to get.
are you going?” Jen asks cautiously as I pick up my purse off the bookshelf by
the couch.
I answer in a monotone voice, the same voice she’s heard all week.
I don’t think that’s a good ide—,” she states, but I don’t let her finish as I
walk out the door, promptly shutting it on her response.
As I
walk out into the humid summer air that the end of July brings, I make my way
to my car. It’s pouring out, which causes me to laugh out sardonically. The
irony of the storm brewing above matches the tidal wave of emotions happening
within me. Realistically, I know, in the state I’m in, I probably shouldn’t be
driving, but I’m to the point that I just don’t give a shit anymore.
not sure how I make it to Riley’s house in one piece. On a normal day, the
drive would have taken me thirty minutes without traffic, but in a storm, it
should have taken me longer. Magically, I make it there in fifteen. And here I
sit, probably looking like a stalker, in the driveway parked behind his car. A
silver Mercedes occupies the spot where I normally park. Thunder and lightning
collide in the night sky, rattling the windows in my car. Rain pours down in
sheets, soaking me to the bone as soon as I step out of my car to make my way
up the walkway and stairs until I’m standing at the front entrance.
the other side of this door is the one person that can make all the hurt I’ve
been feeling this past week disappear. Pain pierces straight through my heart
at the thought of not seeing him again. I sniffle back the tears that I’ve been
crying for days. My hands brace my weight against the doorframe as memories of
us assault me. The night at City Market when we danced in the middle of Ellis Square,
our first technical date, the Blackhawk, the first time we made love, the first
time he told me he loved me. I squeeze my eyes shut tightly willing the
memories, the happiest memories I’ve ever known, to stop. Tears mix in with the
rain as they both flow down my face. Heaving a deep breath, I push myself upright,
square my shoulders, and hold my head up high. If this is it, if what we have
is really over, then he better be man enough to tell me to my face. The unknown
of what is about to come out of this whole situation scares the shit out of me,
but I need to know. Slowly, I raise my fist to knock on the door when it
suddenly flies open and what I see makes me want to vomit all over again.
tall, blonde pulls at the hem of her shirt as she rights herself. My eyes feel
like they are about to pop out as my mouth opens and shuts as if I’m about to
say something. Smeared lipstick stains her cheeks and I’m not sure who’s more
shocked, her or me. When my wide eyes meet hers, it literally feels as if a knife
has stabbed me in the stomach. If I thought for one second that this past week
showed me what actual pain was, I was dead wrong. My knees feel as if they’re
about to give way beneath my weight as I stare at the woman in front of me. She
smiles at me and her eyes rake over my body, clearly deciding that I’m no
competition for her. I look past her to see Riley sitting on the couch in just
his jeans, his head in his hands. A tumbler filled with amber liquid rests in
front of him on the coffee table.
you fucking serious right now?” I ask through a sob.
woman looks back at him over her shoulder before turning to look at me. She
shrugs her shoulders and says, “Maybe you’ll do the trick. He couldn’t even get
it up because he’s so drunk.”
storm past her, shoving her out of the way, as I make my way to stand directly
in front of Riley.
bitch, watch it,” she shouts.
I look at her, she must realize that I’m about to release the hounds of hell in
this house because she slowly begins her retreat out the door.
The. Fuck. Out.” The menacing tone of my voice scares even me.
soon as the door clicks shut behind her, I turn all my anger, hurt, and rage on
the only man deserving of my wrath.
have something you want to tell me?” I ask. Tears flow freely down my face.
There’s no use in trying to conceal them. They just continue to race down my
face on their own accord.
shakes his head from side to side, groaning.
asked you a fucking question.”
he looks up at me, I literally drop to my knees. His eyes are just as bloodshot
as mine. The scent of whiskey seeps out of his pores. The evidence of lipstick
runs down his neck, across his jaw, and on his lips. My hand flies to my mouth
as bile rises in my throat.
am so fucking sorry,” he whispers, shaking his head and his eyes holding a
vacant stare.

It’s the layover she’ll never forget.

Stuck in an airport bar with a choice between three drunk roommates or one dark and delicious stranger, Zoe Chestain decides to live dangerously for once, and succumbs to a night of Shay Bommer’s dominant passion. But her cloud of sensual bliss is blown apart the next day, when the Vegas dancer and her friends are taken hostage by the hijackers of their flight home. Zoe’s horror deepens when her kidnapper reveals himself. Shay.

It’s the mission he’ll never give up.

Shay Bommer is one of the Army’s best, a Special Forces soldier who followed in the footsteps of his brother knowing infiltration with the enemy would sometimes be necessary. But this operation, deep under cover with one of the CIA’s most sought-after criminals, has cost him more than the trust of the most breathtaking submissive he’s ever had in his arms. He’s given up the camaraderie of his unit, the protection of his country, and even the esteem of his brother in the quest to rescue one priceless treasure. His mother.

Can they turn “never” into forever?

Zoe’s danced to some crazy songs in her time, but no wild choreography has prepared her for the adventure of life with Shay—or the return to his bed that means surrendering more than just her body. As they run from the bad guys, the good guys, and everyone in between, she learns about the man behind all his masks, and the Dominant for whom she’s always longed.

When Shay honors his word and unlocks her bonds for good, Zoe must face the truth—that her heart will always be Shay’s willing captive. But staying with him means dying with him. The heat is on. Can Shay and Zoe’s love survive the flames?

How the hell had he ever thought this woman would be a fun and forgettable fling?
Stupid question. Nonexistent answer.
Zoe’s plea, with its finishing scream that seized him from the balls up, confirmed he didn’t even care.
He simply wanted her. And accepted, with grim resignation, that this might be the only time he’d have her. Even if he wasn’t eyeballs-deep in this dangerous ruse with Stock, what he’d ask of her was too much. He was already living on borrowed time, considering all the occasions he’d been dropped into parts of the Middle East that people didn’t want to know about. On one of those trips, he wasn’t going to make it to ex-fil. They’d be carrying his lifeless ass onto the helo, instead.
What key you want that ‘Taps’ played in, soldier?
His depression could wait. The moroseness didn’t belong here, in the rare gift of this night and the tight heaven of this woman’s body. But his desire for her extended beyond that. Zoe was so unbridled in her passion, so eager with her kisses, so open about her insecurities and what she perceived as her “failures”…and then so willing to let him help set her straight about how wrong she was, if only a little…
It was official. She was his submissive dream come true. He had the hard-on, more raging than any he’d had in a while, to confirm it. God help the woman.
“Spread wider for me, baby.”
Her eyes reopened as he said it, likely drawn by the lusty tension in his voice. Sure enough, as their eyes met, he watched fear tighten her features. She attempted a ready smile, which only drove in another knife of compunction. She was being so brave, refusing to ring out no matter how much his cock strained her tender tissues. At the same time, she drove him insane in all the most awesome ways. Damn, she was tight…and despite her strain, getting wetter by the minute. Thank fuck for basic human physiology.
But all the lubricant in the world wasn’t going to make some aspects of this any easier. He was big. She was small. Period.
As a precaution, he wound his hands tighter around her wrists. She noticed, of course. “Shane?” Her query was sweet and tentative and sexy as fuck. “Is everything okay?”
Guilt pushed the repeat key whether he welcomed the shit or not. Is everything okay? Yeah, just fine and dandy—except for the fact that our minds mesh but our bodies may not. Didn’t mean his dancer wouldn’t get satisfaction; he’d just pleasure her in different ways—right before his ice-cold shower.
“Listen to me.” He lined his stare up with hers again. The shadows of the room turned her eyes into gold-kissed midnight. “Red still means stop, Zoe. Got it?”
“I don’t want you to stop.”
“You may take that back in another minute.”
“I don’t. Want you. To stop.”

About Author

Well, hello there! My name is Angel, and I’m so happy to meet you.

Like many, I’ve had a journey to get here.

I’ve loved reading all my life, and have been writing nearly that long, too. I think it started when I penned an 80-page novel about a time-traveling family for a 5th-grade school project. You could say I was hooked. In middle school, I moved to the hardcore stuff: the paragraph-at-a-time “swap-stories” with all my besties. (C’mon…don’t lie…you remember those too!) Needless to say, the stories featured lots of French kissing, mindless groping and angsty drama – but I knew I’d found a niche when I was invited to participate in several more swap-stories on campus.

Some years, various entertainment writing gigs and a half-dozen historical romances later, I discovered the world of sexy romance – and home. (Not to mention a great place for all that angst I never gave up.) I love this genre – change that to love this genre – and hope my stories speak to your heart as well as your blood pressure, as well as your courage to explore new things and express your truth in beautiful new ways.

And where do I do all this? Well, if you ask my hubz, he’d likely say “on another planet,” especially if I’m in story-brewing mode! The rest of the time, I live in Southern California with him and our gorgeous child, where I’m abnormally interested in travel, coffee, wine, shoes, super heroes, ridiculous pop culture trends – but most of all, hearing from fellow readers and romance lovers like you!

Skye is trying to overcome what happened with Sean. Now that she’s slowly healing, both physically and mentally, she’s determined to do something she should have done sooner.

She’s meeting twice a week with a new, very young therapist, Dr. Marshall.

Change up

In Patch Up and Fix Up you had Skye and Duke’s story.

Now, it’s time for Derek and Kate to find their path.

He fights for the people he loves.

She fights against love.

Kate Andrews is starting her second year of college in Seattle. She is happy to leave Chicago and her dysfunctional family behind to be with her friends again. Growing up she thought that her parents’ loveless marriage was all her father’s fault, but that summer she discovered that things are so much more complicated in life and love. Her mother is bipolar. That doesn’t mean her father isn’t unfaithful, nor does he support her and her choices. Additionally, he isn’t a great father or husband, but it brings a new perspective in her life; the way she envisions love.

Derek Williams graduated college a few months ago, and while he moved back in again with his single mother and teenage brother, he never thought that he would be struggling with two crappy jobs. He is not succeeding in either of his jobs or in his countless plans for the future. Instead, he’s trying to bring back his brother and set him on a straight path, while trying to avoid the wrong crowd hounding him, thanks to his brother. Together with fighting his mother on her lack of support in their family, this all has caused chaos.

“Yes, my life is a fucking mess. I have nothing for that girl who deserves everything, and yet I still can’t just sit on my ass and wait for the next asshole to pursue her.‘’ — DEREK

Both of them are very different. Their upbringing is opposite; their vision of love and life contrast, and yet …

“I want to open up to it, open up to the possibility of heartbreak even if I’m scared to death. I’m ready to change up.” — KATE

They’re both still hung up on each other. They can’t forget that one night they shared months ago, can’t ignore their attraction and quickly maturing love. They match in every way that matters, but time and time again their respective families are getting in the way.

“He’s the commitment kind while I’m anti-commitment.” — KATE

Are they willing to fight for each other? Is Kate ready to risk her comfort and everything else for love? Is Derek prepared to chose which battles are worth fighting for?

“It’s never been friendship, and it’ll never be.’’ — DEREK

An hour later, Annie was stuck in bumper to bumper traffic on the 405 south, gritting her teeth at the whopping 5mph she was travelling.

“Don’t you stupid people realize I haven’t seen my man in forever and only have a couple of days with him before he disappears again?” she yelled in frustration, even though no one could hear her. “Argh! I hate L.A. traffic!”

Groaning, Annie leaned back against the headrest and took some deep breaths as she tried to calm herself down before she burst into tears. She didn’t often experience road rage, but in this case, time really was her enemy. When it took another fifteen minutes to go a mile, she finally called Casey to give him an update.

“Finally! Let me buzz you up,” he started to say upon answering the phone.

“I’m not there, yet,” she moaned.

“What? Where are you?”

“Stuck on the fucking 405.”

“Oh man…well, how much longer do you think you’re gonna be?”

Annie sighed as she glanced at the clock on her dashboard. “I dunno…I just passed Sunset, but I’m literally sitting in a parking lot right now. I might be another thirty minutes or so at this rate.”

“It’s okay. You’ll be here soon enough. I’m going to jump in the shower, kay? Call me when you get here.”

“Aww, I wanna shower with you!” she complained. “Damn this freaking traffic to hell!”

“Oh yeah? You thinking about that time we showered together in San Francisco?”

“Mmm…yeah, I might be thinking about that,” Annie said dreamily, momentarily distracted from the slow-moving cars in front of her.

“Maybe I’ll think about that, too, while I shower.”

Quickly snapping back to reality, Annie protested. “Hey now! No touching yourself before I get there. You’re supposed to wait for me.”

Casey groaned, and Annie bit her lip as her eyes fluttered shut for a brief moment. She could imagine him stroking himself as he stood in the shower, one hand bracing himself against the wall, the other hand wrapped firmly around his thick, swollen cock.

“You are so not playing fair,” she said with a whimper.

“I’ll see you when you get here, princess.”

“No touchie!” she snapped and then hung up the phone.

Author Maryann Jordan

Maryann Jordan
I am an avid reader of romance novels, often joking that I cut my teeth on the old bodice rippers. I have been reading and reviewing for years. In 2013, I started the book blog, Lost in Romance Books and promoted indie authors, as well as beta read, basic editing and proofing books. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head, screaming for their story to be told. From these musings, my first novel, Emma’s Home, The Fairfield Series Book 1 was born.
I am a high school counselor having worked in education for thirty years. I live in Virginia, having also lived in four states and two foreign countries. I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for thirty two years and am the mother to two adult daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my four cats can generally be found in the same room if not on my lap.
Please take time to leave a review of this book (on Goodreads, Amazon). Reviews are the lifeline for indie authors.
Feel free to contact me, especially if you enjoyed my book. I love to hear from readers!
