TILL DEATH (#1, Logan’s Lonestar Heroes)
Blurb:
Dave Logan, owner of Deep Six Security, is stunned when former Dallas FBI head, Susan Whitmore, darkens his doorstep accusing him of being the cause of her
losing her job. After hearing her situation, Dave feels something he never expects to feel–sorry for her. But he also knows any problems she had at the
agency were all her own fault. The woman has a tongue so sharp it could rip a man to shreds, and had many times. There was a reason her agents dubbed her
the Barracuda.
Although Dave needs agents in the worst way, and Susan, with an IQ higher than Einstein, better skills and more experience than any of his men, along with
a master’s degree in criminal justice, is more than qualified to be a member of his team, he just doesn’t need the drama she and her mouth would bring to
Deep Six . Even as his brain said no way though, his damned white-knight complex forces him to offer her a job as his temporary secretary.
Realizing he’s made a huge mistake hiring her, Dave calls in favors to get her interviews to get her out of his office. Before he can get rid of her
though, Dave gets a new case only Susan can help him with. A wealthy Dallas oilman and his trophy wife ordered a designer baby from a local fertility
clinic, and the surrogate has gone missing with the baby. The couple wants Deep Six Security to investigate the facility and find the baby, but the only
way Dave can do that is to get inside. To get inside his only option is to go undercover with Susan, posing as a wealthy married couple looking for a baby.
What they find when they get to the spa-like compound is frightening. Payoffs, missing surrogates and young women being used as lab rats are just the tip
of the iceberg.
Can two alpha personalities, both used to being in charge, work together long enough to figure out what’s going on at the clinic, or will they kill each
other before the bad guys at the facility have a chance? If they’re lucky, perhaps the delicious friction between them will turn into something so hot the
place spontaneously combusts, or maybe if they’re luckier it will turn into something which might just last till death do them part.

Blog Tour and Giveaway ~ Grayson by Lisa Eugene
All she needed was a job…
The last thing twenty-four year old grad student Angie Roberts needs is to worry about her new boss’s father. After all, she’s never even seen him. He remains sequestered upstairs in a house that looks like it should be the main feature in an episode of Hoarders. She had no idea the house was such a dump when she took the job. But she’s concerned about the safety and health of the old man living under such horrid conditions.
What she got was a mystery…
Despite warnings not to venture upstairs, she wanders up to the second floor. What she sees is shocking. The man she finds is a gorgeous, sexy, middle-aged man– and he’s stepping out of the shower. But something is definitely not right. Why would this wealthy, handsome man live in a house in such disrepair while his nine-teen year old son resides in a lavish penthouse? Why does he hide away from society? Why does he come to her rescue and then run away?
What she discovered was heartbreaking…
Angie learns that forty-four year old Grayson Whitmore suffers from schizophrenia. Paranoid, he retreats into his own world.
What she ended up with was a treasure…
Angie is determined to get through to him. They form a friendship that blazes into an inconceivable love fired with erotic passion. Angie must now come to Grayson’s rescue because the wicked that has been perpetrated on him is unconscionable. First, though, she must gain the trust of a man whose mind does not allow for such a thing.
Early Sunday morning, I crawled out of bed in search of Grayson. I discovered him upstairs in the room with the books. They were piled all around him as he scratched at something on the floor with an old shovel. The room was saturated with an early morning chill, so thick I could feel it seeping through my skin. I hugged my torso, scrubbing my palms up and down my arms. I approached him hesitantly and asked what he was doing. My heart was in my throat because I never knew what to expect with Grayson. He stopped and leaned against the handle, his cloudy gaze finding my face. He was fully dressed. He must have gotten dressed again after we’d made love earlier.
“Digging,” he acknowledged casually. “Digging a trap.”
I swallowed hard, emotion stacking like bricks in my chest. I shook my head, my mind grasping for purchase, trying to understand. “A trap for what, Grayson?”
“Danger. I have to be prepared. I have to protect us.”
I reached out a hand, trying to keep it steady. “You’re safe, Grayson.”
His gaze shifted to my proffered hand, but he didn’t move. He didn’t believe me. Fear and skepticism drew a roadmap of worry on his face. His jaw squared and he tightened his lips into a brittle line. I watched his body uncurl as he grabbed the shovel and silently started scraping at the floor again. That’s when I saw it. There was a large, jagged crater in the dusty wood that must have been covered up by the scattered books. It was directly over the small cracks I’d seen in the ceiling downstairs, the network of spider veins I’d noticed soon after starting here. I wondered how long he’d been working at this trap. I could already see exposed beams and fluffy insulation. If he kept this up, eventually he’d put a hole right through the wood floor.
“Go back to bed, Angie.”
“I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying with you, Grayson,” I said sternly, plopping myself down on the floor next to him.
He stopped again and stared at me, his blue eyes almost cobalt in the gray dawn. His hair was a loose mane framing his face, giving him an unruly look. “You’ll be tired. You haven’t gotten much sleep.”
I squeezed my eyes shut, hurting, thinking of the reason I’d been up most of the night. We’d held each other, made exquisite love, bathed in a temporary utopia where I could pretend he was okay.
But Grayson wasn’t okay, and as I spent more time with him, I realized the extent of his fractured thoughts. My Grayson was funny and brilliant. My Grayson was tender and passionate. My Grayson could melt my heart with the tiniest smile. But this man, too, was my Grayson, a man who was sometimes out of touch with reality, who lived in the distorted world concocted by his brain. It was a world of doubt, fear, and distrust.

“Hmm, that water looks inviting,” Jake remarked. They walked up to the edge of the pool. He reached out to pull Jennifer into his arms, but she managed to escape his grasp.
“Oh, no you don’t.” She darted away from him.
“What?” Jake gave her a fake look of shock and a mocking smile.
As he reached for her again she gleefully squealed and ran from him to the other end of the pool. Jake came up fast behind her, chuckling as she put her hands up in defense. He grabbed her and drew her toward the pool.
“Don’t you want to take a nice dip in the pool, Jenn?”
“I think we need swimsuits on to do that,” she said.
“Oh, I don’t know about that,” Jake retorted.
He finally got his arms around her and started kissing her. She responded to his kisses breathlessly. As his hands moved up and down her back, each touch set off a barrage of tingling excitement and sensual feelings within her.
Slowly, he edged her toward the pool until they stood right next to it. She turned so that Jake’s back faced the pool. She gingerly brought her arms around to his chest and gave him a shove. He fell backward into the pool and came up from the water sputtering. He swam to the side of the pool to get out then made a beeline toward her. She laughed as he caught up with her.
Grinning wolfishly, he said, “It’s your turn now.”
“You asked for it, Jake, trying to toss me in the pool. I know you too well.” She giggled as Jake picked her up and hoisted her over his shoulder.
Just as he tossed her in the pool, she grabbed him by the neck and they both went colliding in. They came up from the water breathless and laughing. He lifted her up on to the side of the pool and she bent down to kiss him on his mouth. He responded by claiming her lips as his own.
After a heady kiss, he pulled back. “You’re chilled. Let’s get you out of these wet clothes.”
“A plight that’s all your fault,” Jennifer responded playfully.

Tom climbed up into a tree at the end of the property line to watch the couple. First, he saw Jennifer come home, and then a man showed up. Tom pulled his high-powered binoculars out to get a closer look. It looked like she had fixed him dinner and now they were sitting in the kitchen eating.
Tom knew if he didn’t get out of the tree and head back to his room to eat and take his medication, the voices in his head would start up again. But he wanted to stay and watch them.
After they ate, they went out on the deck by the pool. He saw her kissing him! Tom felt like he was going to vomit. Now they were romping around the pool after she pushed him in. I wish he’d drown.
His anger was turning to rage, and it was getting out of control.

Excerpt from Forever Dark
It’s pouring outside, rain pelting my face and soaking my t-shirt. I don’t care. I still walk in the rain.
Before I know it, I’m on the third floor and approaching her door, my shoes squeaking on the concrete floor. Taking my phone from my pocket, I send Madison a text.
You up?
She answers right away. It’s locked. Hold on.
My shoulder hits the wall, I lean into the door waiting for her to unlock it. A couple holding hands and beer passes by me. I don’t give them the time of day, even though they bump my shoulder and congratulate me on the season though we loss last night.
Fuck football at this point.
I’m angry.
So fucking angry.
I know I should have known that she was this girl but the fact that she kept stringing me along, that has me so angry.
I thought it was more.
That’s my problem. I thought.
When Madison opens the door, she’s dressed in my jersey from freshman year… yeah, the one she stole, and it’s a fading fucking reminder of what we used to be. I want to rip it off her body like she rips my heart out.
When I step inside, she’s not looking at me and she won’t. She barely ever does.
“What are you doing here?” Her voice is low and hushed as she reaches to close the bathroom door.
I step inside raising an eyebrow at her, but I don’t look up, I can’t. The thump is louder, her proximity is suffocating. We don’t touch as I speak. “You don’t want me here?”
She shakes her head, hopeless eyes fail to find anything they’re looking for. Slumped shoulders give way and she wraps her arms around me bringing our bodies together. Her hands slide over my wet shirt, catching as it clings to my body. She kisses down my jaw until her lips find mine. She captures me, right then, consuming me with her kisses. Our lips never fumble, maybe frustrated we can never get close enough, but they’re sure kisses that designate what we are, for the briefest moment.
We’re this, right here, right now.
A three AM text and no questions, only mumbled words of acceptance.
I’m here for something and she knows it, her mouth finds mine again fisting her hands in my t-shirt, pulling me into her. We stumble, the wall meets her back and I’m dying, falling, soaring into the high only she can give me. I close my eyes and ignore the thump in my chest, ignore the fact that’s she’s never gonna love me the way I love her.
It’s just not going to happen.
Ever.
Stop beating. Stop believing in anything but never.
The moment her tongue meets mine, I can’t breathe again. I’m screaming in pain that she can’t see what she does to me, how she makes me feel.
Excerpt from Forever Light
I push everything out of my mind and move with determination. It has to be this way. It’s for the best. I throw everything that’s left of me into soul-searing sex between us. My movements becoming harder, faster, my left arm wrapped around her waist, my right hand on her ass moving her against me. Macy’s panting and gently biting down on my neck and it only fuels my fire and sends me over the fucking edge. Macy’s body tightens around me and I push harder into her chasing my own orgasm, praying she’s close because I’m not lasting.
“Oh Landon,” she cries out. Her body goes limp in my arms as I continue to drive into her. It starts out low in my stomach building rapidly and then it hits like a freight train.
“Damn,” I grind out still pumping in and out of her slowly as my release hits.
I rest my head on her shoulder and it’s then that I realize she’s crying.
Shit. Was I too rough?
Did I hurt her?
No, that’s all I’ve ever done is hurt her. This is more. This is her knowing there’s no chance for us. Not when I can’t give myself to her in the ways she needs. I lift her chin and a tear slips down her cheek. Her next words break that last piece that was holding me together.
“You stole my heartbeat.” I blink, pulling away from her, and the words come out before I can stop them.
“I can’t steal something you give to me over and over again to destroy.”

Excerpt
Ulysses nodded, satisfied. “Come with me,” he said, gesturing to me to follow.
I got up and followed him down the hall to the bathroom. I looked in each room we passed, but there was no sign of anyone; no screams or even talking. Worse, there was nothing in any of the rooms to help me: no phones, no exits, no keys lying on tables, no tools, not even some gasoline and pack of matches conveniently within reach.
When I was finished, Ulysses led me back in the room and locked the door, then walked away.
I sat down, debating courses of action. I wanted to remove the armor, as it was stifling, and hadn’t been made to sit in for long periods of time. Yet I didn’t, too worried that I’d be unprepared if a chance to escape presented itself. Instead, I walked slowly back and forth for a half hour, and then rested for a half hour lying prone on the floor. I alternated between the two actions all through the rest of the night, waiting and hoping for rescue. But dawn came and went and no one appeared.
Devlin began to shriek around ten a.m. The horrible sounds of pain went on and on, undulating in volume and strength as the minutes ticked by. Unhinged, I sobbed as I listened to him scream. They were burning him, and there was nothing I could do but listen. I cursed my inability to teleport, furious at fate. A month ago we would have been safe back at Hayden the moment I’d known we were in danger. I’d forgotten everything that mattered, and relied too much on my teleportation power. If I’d brought even one clip and my gun, I’d be free now…
Dev’s screams finally died off about eleven. I cried harder at the silence, wondering if he was dead.
The day wore on, the time passing at a crawl. No one came back to check on me, or to even offer me water, much less food. I was hungry, and desperately thirsty. In my frustration and need, I began screaming, hammering at the door with my gloved fists. But no one came.
Around three, Devlin began to shriek again. I cried out with relief that he was still alive, but despair engulfed me, knowing I couldn’t do anything to stop his pain…
My head snapped up, realization dawning. I could hear him…that meant he could hear me. “Please, hold on,” I screamed out tearfully. “I’m okay, Dev. Hold on! I love you!”
Devlin didn’t reply, his screams continuing. I shouted out that I loved him and to hold on a few times more, then burst into frenzied sobbing, collapsing on the floor.
